Swimming Crash Courses in School Holidays

What Is A Swimming Crash Course?

In England, every 6 weeks children are off school either for a week or two- these short breaks are known as school half-term breaks. Half-term breaks are on top of longer school holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Summer holidays. Swimming crash courses are 4 or 5 day week swimming lessons offered during school short or long school holidays.

We offer swimming lessons during weekdays, Monday to Friday during morning times over school holidays.

Swimming crash courses are excellent not only for keeping children active during school holidays and catch up with swimming. This is specially important almost all need to make up for months that nobody could get any swim lessons due to pool closures and pandemic.

Swimming crash course are excellent specially for beginners and the start of formal swimming lessons has been delayed due to COVID1-19 pandemic.

So if you are one of those parents who is looking for ways to make up for all the lost swim lessons, a crash course is great option.

What To Expect from Our Swimming Crash Courses?

a 6 year old child swims backstroke with good techniqueIn terms of teaching methods, swimming crash courses are similar to our weekly lessons.

But rather than having one lesson every week during school term time, children can have 30 mins or 60 mins lessons a day, in one week or two, during weekdays during school holidays.

During long school holidays you can do 10 lessons over two weeks, which is almost equivalent to a term of weekly lessons.

In this way, instead of doing traditional weekly lessons, you can very conveniently squeezed in the equivalent of a term of lessons in two week and save journey time.

The Main Goals of Crash Courses are:

  • Boost water confidence
  • Improve swimming skills and technique

Our half-term and school holidays crash courses, which will be delivered in 25 meter pool in Southfields (Aspire Centre SW18 5JU), we can offer lessons for all levels.

The younger and less experienced children who are normally at beginners and beginners plus levels- get a massive boost in their confidence and have a chance to be introduced and learn the more basic technical skills like putting face in the water, kicking legs and how to float on front and back independently.

More experienced swimmers (stage 4 and above of Swim England National Teaching Plan for Swimming) can do the 60-minute classes with a focus on breath control, body position, and propulsion in the water and working more on the four competitive strokes.

For children who already have a solid swimming foundation, technique and improving stamina is also part of intensive classes.

We also offer 1:1 adult swim lessons in our crash courses.
