Do you love swimming? You should and here’s why!

Are you wondering why? Because firstly, swimming and love benefit us in similar ways and secondly, learning to swim starts off with love of water.

Let me ask you if you like the feeling of being in water? Do you feel peaceful and calm when you are in a pool and spa. Do you generally enjoy being in the water and the feeling of relaxation that movement in the water can produces.

There’s something very therapeutic about being in or near water. Here’s what science has to say about it.

Swimming Releases Endorphins

Swimming, like all exercise, releases endorphins in your brain. These are natural feel-good hormones that increase positivity and bring about a sense of wellbeing and happiness.

Swimming Reduces Stress and Anxiety

Swimming and movement in water are particularly good to relax your body, soothe your mind and reduce anxiety. That is why even in some swimming pools and spas relaxing music is played to add to the relaxing effect of water and swimming

Love and Swimming; The Comparison

We know love stimulates all of your happy chemicals at once. That’s why it feels so good. Each happy chemical in your brain like endorphins-which are stimulated by love-reward us in different ways. It is interesting to know that there are parallels between how love affects the human brain and how it changes our biochemistry and water-based activities like swimming

“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,” ~ William Shakespeare

Endorphins, Love and Swimming:

When people are in love their brains start to release endorphins. Endorphins are associated with feelings of comfort. Endorphins are like opiates. They calm anxiety, relieve pain and reduce stress. So, it is thesame feeling that people get when they go to spa or after swimming

Swimming is one of the most popular leisure activities in the U.K and as many parents would agree, it is much easier to pursue a child who can swim to go for a family swim than a child who doesn’t like water.
