Blue Wave Swim School’s swimming programme was launched in Wandsworth and Wimbledon in February 2011. Following the Swim England National Teaching Plan for Teaching Swimming , the lessons are fun but, structured and swim teacher’s role is to teach and provide feedback.
We believe learning to swim is a lifeskill and a rewarding experience for all age groups.
Our swim teachers are continuously assessing our swimmers and support and inspire them to learn within structured lessons. Our primary focus is to ensure all children learn to be water-confidence by attending weekly term time swimming lessons. However, during the school half-term holidays we take a week off.
Our lessons begin with ‘Parent & Baby’ classes for parent and children from the age of 4 months. These are followed by toddler swimming for children up to age 4 years old, before the children move either private or group lessons which doesn’t require parents to be in water with children.
At the end of our learn-to-swim programme and gaining stage 7 of NTPS your child will be a confident and competent swimmer and can swim all four main strokes and able to swim 200 meters continuously
Low pupil to teacher ratios are designed to maximise learning, with class sizes of 6 children to one teacher ratio.
The reason we don’t have any swim lessons running during schools half-term break for a week, is we know families need some time off from weekly routine during school term-time. Plus, to give children time off to go and have fun and go for family swim during school holidays.
